You're invited to join Habitat Capital Region in celebrating Martha's closing and the completion of our 136th Habitat home in the greater Lansing area! The Habitat Home Dedication Ceremony with the homebuyer family will take place at Martha's future home on March 1, 2025.
The event celebrates the Habitat homebuyers - Martha and her four children - and the many people and organizations that made this affordable homeownership opportunity possible.
This house is a Habitat Capital Region rehabilitation project, donated by University of Michigan Health-Sparrow. It would not have been possible without the hospital's support! Martha will purchase her home through the Habitat Capital Region Homeownership Program.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the house and congratulate Martha after the ceremony.

About Martha
Martha grew up in Sudan and fled to Ethiopia as a refugee before coming to the United States two decades ago. Martha and her four children have lived in low-income housing ever since. She worked hard for multiple years to establish her income and credit history in a new country.
Still, the amount of rent she pays each month fluctuates with her income, making it nearly impossible to purchase a home - the part of the American dream that Martha aspires to the most. “It’s been a dream of mine to own my own home. The Homeownership Program will give us the opportunity to grow financially and plant roots in a community that we love.”
We are so happy to see Martha making her dreams come true to purchase her Habitat home with an affordable mortgage! Help us celebrate Martha's accomplishment at her Home Dedication at her future home on Saturday, March1st, 2025.
