The Home Depot Foundation Partners with Habitat for Humanity to Update Homes for Two Lansing Veterans

Local Volunteer Effort Part of Nationwide Commitment to Improving the Homes and Lives of Veterans

WHAT: On Thursday, June 6, The Home Depot Foundation will partner with Habitat for Humanity Capital Region to update two homes for Lansing area veterans. Approximately 40 volunteers from Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate-led volunteer force, will support the project.

The Home Depot Foundation and Habitat for Humanity Capital Region have a long-standing relationship in the local community, including the annual Rock the Block neighborhood revitalization campaign. At the house located on Hapeman Street, the two organizations will come together to help a disabled veteran and his family with critical home updates. The repairs will ultimately increase the home’s safety and energy efficiency, and reduce utility bills for long-term impact. This project is part of The Home Depot’s ongoing efforts to improve communities and the lives of U.S. military veterans and their families. Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has transformed more than 41,000 homes and facilities for veterans across the country. Giving back to veterans is personal to The Home Depot, as more than 35,000 of the company’s associates have served in the military.
