Ramp Program

We believe that everyone deserves the independence that comes with safe, easy access to their home.

With independence comes dignity. Habitat Capital Region’s Ramp Program builds affordable wooden ramps that restore independence for those with mobility challenges by providing safe access to and from their home.

Since 1994, Habitat Capital Region ramp crews have built over 900 ramps for our community members with accessibility needs.

I had to keep track of him trying to come and go up those steps, make sure he didn't fall. Lyron can now ride the wheel chair inside when he's done in the drive way and watching my grandsons working in the garage.

Who qualifies for a Habitat ramp?

The Ramp Program is for residents of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties with temporary or permanent mobility challenges of any kind. The program is available to homeowners and renters and includes mobile homes. Ramp builds are scheduled for approved applicants throughout the building season.

How much does a ramp cost?

Because each accessibility ramp is customized to the location, there is no standard cost. Financial assistance is available to qualified applicants based on their household income, because we believe that cost should never be a barrier to the independence that comes with a safe, accessible home.
